A rendering of one possible option for the Mountain Park residence shows high windows over the porch. We also explored whether top- lighting the private hall was worth the compromises in constructability and cost.

Project Story:

A family based in the Bay Area, with strong ties to the local community in Northfield, bought a condemned house with a dream of replacing it with a new house for the generations to come. The current iteration is designed to meet Passive House Institute of the United States (PHIUS) standards. This project will re-use the existing building's footprint and foundation hole, while reaching for the highest energy targets. There will be enough roof for solar to acheive Net Zero Energy, PHIUS 2018+ Source Zero, and power an electric car.
